In today's schools and universities, the most common means of communication is reading and writing. Gaining confidence in writing can be a critical factor to educational success. Students with dyslexia or non-native English speakers (ESL) usually invest a lot of effort in writing and spelling correctly. Unfortunately, in many cases, students who have a gap between their intellectual abilities and their ability to express themselves in writing are left behind.
Many education institutes (schools, universities and colleges) offer different assistive technology resources to their students to overcome their limitations. One of the areas of focus is assistive technology writing tools. The challenge of these education institutes is meeting the needs of all students requiring help. Different assistive technology may help different students. Unfortunately due to the cost of assistive technology an education institute must limit the resources available to its students.
